Applications for miscellaneous permits

Failure to provide all of the information required by the checklist will delay your permit review and approval.

Once a building permit is issued by the Building Department, the builder/contractor must begin work within 180 days or the permit will become void and a new application must be made. Once you start construction on your building, building inspections cannot be scheduled more than 180 days apart. The permit must be picked up and paid for no later than 60 days after the permit has been approved (a representative from the Building Division will contact you by phone once the permit has been approved). Permit applications not picked up within 60 days after being approved will be destroyed.

Fences/Walls
-Two (2) surveys and two (2) sketches of the plat showing proposed locations of fence, height, construction methods and materials

Pools
-Two (2) sets of signed and sealed plans
-Two (2) signed and sealed surveys and site plans
-Two (2) sketches showing the location of the pool
All application must come in as a package, fence, screen, pool electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.)

Spa/Jacuzzi
-Two (2) sets of signed and sealed plans
-Two (2) signed and sealed surveys and site plans
-Two (2) sketches showing the location
-Dade County product approval

Gas
-Two (2) sketches of the gas location showing location and method of installation

Solar Water Heater
-Florida Solar Energy Center approval
-Dade County product approval
6
Sprinkler/Fire
-Three (3) sets of signed and sealed plans showing the location and details
7
Lawn Sprinkler System
-Two (2) sets of drawings showing the number of sprinkler heads and the layout of the entire system.
8
Landscaping
-Two (2) sets of signed and sealed plans, by a registered Florida landscape architect, showing existing trees to remain, existing trees to be removed and all proposed plant materials.  Requires approval by DERM.
9
Docks and Seawalls
-DERM approval along with (2) sets of signed and sealed plans
-Two sets of survey
