Recommendation:
It is recommended that the Town Council adopt the attached Resolution No. 2157.11 as presented.
Background:
The Town Council has the authority to waive competitive bidding when it deems the bid to be impractical. I believe that the attached invoice / project falls under the category to have competitive bidding waived, and ask for your approval.
As part of the landscape installation for Singer Park the costs came in at $4,026.00 over the $25,500.00 limit currently allowed under the Town’s spending threshold.
Although we did get quotes from another vendor, a formal bid-process would have cost the Town approximately an additional $4,000.00 dollars.
Landscape Associates has a proven track record with the Town as they have successfully completed: North Park, the Massini Fence Line, all four (4) corners of the Strand and Golden Beach Drive and the North and South side of the Strand along the Police Substation.
Fiscal Impact:
The total proposed invoice for landscaping services at Singer Park is proposed at $29,026.00.
