Mayor Singer called meeting to order at 7:40 pm.
Council Members: Mayor Glenn Singer, Vice Mayor Judy Lusskin, Councilmember Ben Einstein, and Councilmember Joe Iglesias
Staff: Town Manager Bonilyn Wilbanks-Free, Police Chief James Skinner, Town Attorney Stephen Helfman, Building Official Dan Nieda, Finance Director Maria Camacho, Assistant to the Town Manager Zoraya Roncallo, and Town Clerk Cathy Szabo.

A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Golden Beach, Florida appointing to serve on the Town Council until the next General Election; providing for implementation; providing for an effective date.

3. Variance Requests for 304 South Parkway. A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Golden Beach, Florida; approving three variance requests for the property located at 304 South Parkway, Golden Beach, Florida 33160 to permit a second to first floor area ratio of 69.75%, to permit a rear yard setback of 32’-3”, and to permit a rear yard setback of 31’-0”; providing for conditions; providing for implementation; providing for an effective date.

Mayor Singer moved to approve both setbacks, second by Councilmember Iglesias 4/0, all ayes.
Building Official Nieda explained the related hardship of an irregular shaped lot, running with the land, and is of the opinion that it is a reasonable request.

Councilmember Iglesias moved to approve the third variance request, second by Mayor Singer, 4/0 all ayes.
4. Variance Request 526 North Parkway. A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Golden Beach, Florida; approving a variance request for the property located at 526 North Parkway, Golden Beach, Florida 33160 to permit an encroachment into the rear setback area of 1’-8”; providing for conditions; providing for implementation; providing for an effective date.
RESOLUTIONS: MISCELLANEOUS
5. Approval of the Miami Dade Contract for our participation in the Dade County Drug Court Program. A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Golden Beach, Florida authorizing the appropriate town officials to apply for the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program Grant through the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services; authorizing the acceptance of said grant, if awarded, and authorizing the expenditure of up to $1,008.00 as a 25% cash match to the grant award; approving a contract with the Miami-Dade County Department of Human Services for the creation of a Criminal Justice Record Improvement Project; authorizing the Town Mayor to execute said contract; and providing for an effective date.
Councilmember Iglesias moved to approve, second by Vice Mayor Lusskin, 4/0 all ayes.
6. Appointment of Building Department Director. A Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Golden Beach, Florida approving the appointment and terms of employment of Linda Epperson as Building Department Director; authorizing the Mayor and Town Manager to take all action necessary to implement; providing for an effective date.
Councilmember Iglesias moved to approve, second by Mayor Singer, 4/0 all ayes.
