About Golden Beach
The ocean front Town of Golden Beach sits on 1.3 miles along the northernmost portion of State Road A1A in Miami-Dade County in South Florida. This small jewel of a town is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the East, the Intracoastal Waterway to the West, and the coastal municipalities of Hallandale Beach to the North and Sunny Isles Beach to the South. Nestled in exclusivity and privacy within a short driving distance from the large urban areas of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, Golden Beach is convenient to fine dining, cultural centers, professional sports venues, and world class shopping centers such as the prestigious Shoppes of Bal Harbour.
Since its incorporation in 1929 as the ninth municipality in Miami-Dade County, Golden Beach has become one of the most desirable places to live in South Florida. This small quiet community has maintained its family lifestyle in a 1.3 mile-long sanctuary of 370 single-family homes that are mostly located on the Intracoastal and its waterways or directly on the Atlantic Ocean. The Town Charter protects the Town from commercial activity of any kind and forbids the construction of high rise condominiums that saturate so many beach front communities in South Florida. A beautiful 1.3 mile private beach with an historic beach Pavilion, 3 parks, and a committed sense of community have attracted talented, discerning residents from all over the world to this idyllic town located only 18 miles from Miami International Airport and 15 miles from Ft.
Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades. |

The unit participates in joint efforts with the Florida Fish & Wildlife Commission, Aventura, Sunny Isles Beach, and Bal Harbor Marine Patrol Units. The Marine Patrol also participates as part of the Homeland Security team. The Golden Beach Police Department is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Operations Plan “HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE. “ Under this operations plan every Coast Guard Sector Commander is responsible to coordinate Maritime Homeland Security operations in their Sector of responsibility. This plan attempts to coordinate all aviation and marine operations with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies with the individual Coast Guard Sectors. The Golden Beach Police is fulfilling its role as part of the effort toward Homeland Security.
The Town has implemented a Marine Patrol Auxiliary (MPA) to assist the regular assigned Marine Patrol Officers by placing a second trained person on the Marine Patrol Boat during regular operations.
