The Town has to maintain the poles for those residents and the poles that remain will affect landscaping.

How will this project affect the value of my property?
The project will affect the value of your property in a very positive way based on information obtained from other municipalities that currently have underground their utilities. Mr. Boe Cole former senior finance person for the City of Ft. Lauderdale says that when the City accomplished the undergrounding, the property values began to rise dramatically.
Why is the new Town Hall project not included in these projects?
If the Town chooses to go with the Special Assessment route for financing the Town Hall project cannot be included as a project. If the Town goes with the General Obligation Bond financing option we would be able to include the Town Hall Project.
What is the difference between a Special Assessment and a General Obligation Bond?
The Town has the authority to levy and collect special assessments on specially benefited property for the purpose of financing this project and with a General Obligation Bond the Town can pledge tax revenues (based on property value) by adopting a resolution or ordinance and calling for a referendum vote.
