The Town Attorney provides legal support and opinions to the Town Council, Town Manager, Department Directors and Advisory Boards, on all legal issues affecting the Town.  The Office of the Town Attorney may assist the Town Clerk with the drafting of resolutions and ordinances.  The Town Attorney is responsible for drafting and reviewing agreements, contracts and other legal documents.  The Town Attorney may defend and prosecute cases involving the Town.

The following objectives were developed to provide a description of the anticipated accomplishments for this office as tbey relate to the Town Council's Goals and Objectives.

• To provide the Town Council and Town staff with legal advice and support on all necessary legal matters affecting the Town.
• To ensure adequate legal oversight associated with the implementation and construction of the Town's Capital Improvement Program.
• To prepare and/or review resolutions, ordinances and contracts.
• To represent the Town in litigation matters.
