All new building construction and additions to existing buildings must comply with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) requirements.

In the Town of Golden Beach, some portions of the Town have been designated as a Special Flood Hazard Area by FEMA. Different parts of the Town fall into different Special Flood Hazard Areas and, as such, are more or less likely to experience flooding.

For information about whether your property is in a Special Flood Hazard Area, please contact the Building Department at (305) 932-10744, or come into the Building Department located at 1 Golden Beach Drive, Golden Beach, FL 33160. The Building Department keeps a series of FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps, which locate the various Special Flood Hazard Areas in the Town.
