Mayor Glenn Singer has been presiding over the Town of Golden Beach for more than 20 years in his role as Mayor. Originally elected to the Town Council in 2001, he quickly learned that if he was going to elicit real change within the community he was going to have to do so in a much larger capacity.  For that reason, after one term of 4 years as a Councilmember, he decided to run for Mayor and was officially sworn in on February 15, 2005. Once elected, he went straight to work laying the groundwork for Golden Beach’s ever-evolving future.

Mayor Singer brings a multi-faceted history of success to his position. After graduating from Florida State University, he spent decades practicing as a Certified Public Accountant.  In 1990, recognizing a massive demand for the outsourcing of payroll and employee benefits, he and his partners established a successful Florida-based professional employer organization called National Business Solutions. In addition to his duties as Mayor, he is an active investor and lends his expertise to a number of businesses at various stages of growth in a variety of industries including real estate, technology, and private equity. He is also a true philanthropist at heart and donates to multiple charities and various causes regularly.

Initially attracted by the Town of Golden Beach’s beauty, exclusivity, security, and prized oceanfront location, Mayor Singer moved his family to the town in 1997. After settling in, he was driven by a desire to assist the Town in accomplishing its well-defined vision for the future, and he quickly immersed himself in serving his community as an actively involved citizen.

Since he began his tenure, Mayor Singer has placed the successful growth and development of this community among his highest priorities. One of his greatest achievements has been fostering the growth of the town’s assessed values from just over $400 million to over $2.086 billion today. He has delivered on  several imperative improvements throughout the Town such as the development of the Town’s new Civic Center Complex and Landfall Team Bunker (which was featured in Trend Magazine); the undergrounding of all utilities, securing 2 GO Bonds totaling $21.5 million, providing high speed 5G fiber to all residents (which was the first of its kind in the nation and a monumental accomplishment for a community of this size); upgraded the Town’s sewer system, implemented stormwater improvements to help alleviate flooding, installed new water system piping, replaced 2 of the Town’s 3 bridges, unveiled 3 new tennis and 2 new pickleball courts; and grew the Town’s parks from 2 to 9 to meet the needs of the flourishing younger population.

Recognizing that safety and security is paramount to protecting our residents and their investments, the Mayor leads in the modernization efforts of our security measures and  police department to ensure that we stay ahead of our pursuit of being the safest community in the state. During his incumbency, over 285 cameras have been installed throughout the Town; including 6 emergency call boxes, that render immediate assistance when utilized, and a drone was also purchased to help aid in patrols. He has promoted the growth of the Town’s police force, and under his leadership the first marine patrol and motor units were created. In 2013, our Police Department received its first State Accreditation and has successfully been reaccredited since then.

As we look ahead into the future, with the construction of our highly anticipated Wellness Center Complex and Reimagined Tweddle Park underway, the Mayor is beyond excited to be delivering more world class amenities that the residents of Golden Beach can be proud of. Such amenities further substantiate that Golden Beach is a premier destination to live and raise a family in South Florida.
